As an assistant on a course, I was pleased at the close contact with the students, which was not only good in terms of the course work but also made for fun evenings and excursions. It was also good to be able to get the participants enthused about my research topic.

I have taken part in the Summer School both as a student and as an assistant, and have always felt comfortable in both capacities. Besides the interesting projects, you get to meet some nice people at the Summer School and it’s great to sit eating “Kaiserschmarrn” while enjoying the panoramic mountain views.

I attended the Summer School several times as a student, and besides the courses I really enjoyed the walks, table tennis and excursions to Bolzano. The close contact with the tutors and assistants also proved helpful when it came to choosing an interesting subject for my thesis.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Summer School: it involved fun project work as part of a great group of really keen students, combined with walks in stunning scenery and top-notch cooking. A big thank-you to everyone who made it happen!

The particular environment enables the students to develop a very easy-going relationship with the tutors, particularly through the joint activities. The cultural evenings and excursions provide opportunities to talk about all kinds of things, not just academic ones, which means you get to discover a different side to people. I have also now joined Prof. Kaup’s department as a research assistant.
